Marc A. Mitscher was a lieutenant that was stationed at a naval air base. He was assigned the captain of the aircraft the Hornet. The Hornet could fly within 800 miles of the Japanese coast. This technology of flying so close to the coast helped in the sinking of four Japanese carriers in the Battle of Midway.
Yamamoto Isoroku
This man was a Japanese officer that was in charge of the invasion of the Islands of Midway. He strategized using multiple plans before finally reaching the one that would fail so miserably that it destroyed the confidence of the Japanese navy, leaving them on the defense for the rest of the war.

Chester Nimitz was a commander in chief during World War Two. He predicted that the Japanese were going to attack the Island of Midway. When the Japanese attacked, he told Lieutenant Marc A. Mitscher where to place three carrier planes in order to ambush the Japanese. The Americans took down multiple Japanese ships, which was a big accomplishment because the Japanese had a much larger navy than the United States.
